Breastfeeding your newborn is a wonderful and natural bonding experience between mother and child but it is not always as comfortable or a easy as it is made out to be. Whether it is discomfort while supporting your newborn or reducing inflammation around the breasts we at NESST recommend these products to help make the experience as comfortable as possible.

Breastfeeding Pillow

This can be incredible in positioning and supporting baby when latching. For mothers who have had a caesarian section a breastfeeding pillow can reduce pressure on the abdomen when feeding. It can also help support baby while bottle feeding.

Warm and Cold Compress

To help with comfort during early breastfeeding establishment. Cold compress can reduce inflammation, swelling and pain. Warm compress can help widen the ducts and help milk come into the breasts.

Massage Aid

A breastfeeding specific aid such as Lactamo can help engorgement, blocked ducts, let down, under sully and oversupply and pain. There are many different types of massage aids for breastfeed find one that is gentle and suits you best. Hand massage is also very beneficial.

You can get either disposable or reusable. Reusable tend to be softer and more comfortable but may not be as absorbent so could need frequent changing. Disposable ones can be irritating so people with sensitive skin but are easy to use and absorbent. Its important to keep your nipples dry in the early days of breastfeeding to prevent nipple thrush.
